About

Anasazi Foundation is an alcohol and drug addiction treatment facility that is located at 1424 South Stapley Drive in Mesa, Arizona. Treating substance abuse involves multiple stages of treatment through a recovery program such as that offered by Anasazi Foundation. This can include group counseling, individual counseling, outpatient treatment, inpatient treatment, and medically assisted detox, among many others. Treatment programs are based on the individual themselves and are constructed to suit each patient individually. Just as every person is unique, so should treatment programs and that is exactly what patients will receive at Anasazi Foundation.

If addicts do not obtain the right type of support and guidance, they may find treatment to be very difficult as the thought of sobriety can seem so far-fetched. At Anasazi Foundation, professional counseling and guidance are provided to all patients aged Adolescents, giving them the strength needed in order to obtain a life that is free of drug and alcohol addiction. By altering the patient's outlook on life through addiction treatment, they will be able to stay positive throughout the duration of rehab.

The staff members at Anasazi Foundation have a mission and that is to give patients effective and quality addiction treatment so that long-lasting sobriety can be obtained. The path to a positive future starts on a positive foot and that begins at Anasazi Foundation. Confronting addiction is a difficult thing to do, but it is the most important step in the recovery process. Through professional counseling during the patient's time in treatment, patients will learn coping skills and trigger management which is imperative to the success of maintaining sobriety.

Maintaining sobriety on one's own is extremely difficult, especially when the addict has tried to go 'cold turkey' on their own. This is because it requires medically-assisted detox in order to properly and safely wean the body off of the substance of abuse. This way the body does not go through sudden withdrawal nor experience harsh side effects. Anasazi Foundation can provide patients with all of the necessary tools, treatments, and resources so that patients have every opportunity to succeed in recovery.

Getting treatment is the best option when seeking a life that is free of substance abuse. Get the help required now and start living the best life possible. Contact Anasazi Foundation by visiting www.anasazi.org now.

As a therapist, I've had opportunity to refer to Anasazi. With great success. As a parent, I would not hesitate for a moment in sending my child to these great people for their 'awakening' to their 'walking.' Safe, beautiful, and effective.

Two young people in my family have been young walkers. The strength it gave them to face what lay ahead of them and leave behind their past cannot be expressed. Anasazi is one of a kind.

Anasazi changed my life for the better forever! I went there to work as a trail staff to help others who were troubled but what I found was the wilderness and the principles of the program not only changed the lives of hundreds that I worked with but it also changed me in ways I didn’t even know I needed. It brought a peace and self-confidence I had never found before. If you or a loved one are in need of healing and peace, I would recommend it to you. As you make the call to find out more, you will feel if it is the right thing for you or your loved one.

I cannot say enough about how great Anasazi is. My family has been involved with the program as young walkers and trail walkers for years. There is simply no experience that compares to the transformative power of this program. Anasazi heals hearts, brings families together and forges character in unique and potent way. This program has helped me and many others close to me, my family will be forever grateful that we got involved with Anasazi.

I worked as a trailwalker for Anasazi and I loved every minute of it. The program has a great focus on those in their teenage years and has a program for adults as well. Anasazi Foundation not only works with the individual, it is a group/family effort for the teenager and their parent/parents. I would recommend this Foundation to anyone searching for ideas to strengthen their family and their kids.

As a struggling youth, ANASAZI was integral in opening the channels of communication between me and my parents. It is because of this amazing program that I now have a very positive and healthy relationship with my mom and dad. I also learned a great many skills on the trail that I believe established a foundation of principles to help me overcome challenges and ultimately live a happy and productive life. I love the culture, I love the people, I love the message: “Within every child is a seed of greatness.”

Our family has been associated with Anasazi for over 20 years. Anasazi has had a positive impact on every member of my family and even led to a very happy marriage for one of my sons! The principles of the Anasazi program are based on love and trust, not punishment or coercion, and the ultimate goal of Anasazi is to repair the broken bonds that often occur between parents and their teenage children and to help children recognize the consequences of their choices, build self-esteem and realize their intrinsic worth. Anasazi literally saves lives. I would recommend it to anyone.

I sent my daughter here 7 years ago as a 16 year old in desperate need of help. I was so nervous about leaving her there, but the genuine kindness and compassion of the Anasazi staff made me feel 100% at peace. Then, my husband and I stayed for a few days for the parent workshop, which just confirmed that we were in the right place. My daughter had never camped one day in her life and at the end of six weeks was begging to be extended so she could stay longer. We have participated in many alumni events since she left the trail and the people are just as amazing today as they have ever been. Not only did my daughter benefit from this experience, but our whole family did. We still draw upon this experience when we need strength. I would recommend this program to anyone who needs help. What was once lost is found on the sacred Anasazi trail.

Many years ago I was a staff member (trail walker) and I really loved to work there and loved the kids that came through. Although there can be challenging times, it's a growing experience. We all learn hopefully to be more humble, appreciate our surroundings and the people we come in contact with. It's a time to learn about life, our actions and the consequences of our actions. Nature has a way of helping us to do this. It takes us back to the basics in life so we can re-center our lives. I would recommend this program to anyone needing guidance and perspective in their lives.

Our son was thirteen when he attended wilderness here. It was a great experience and one that will last a lifetime. He still needed residential treatment but for the right person it would be life changing.

This amazing group of people are there for you and your child when you are wondering if anyone else is. They instill hope in the hearts of young people, encourage them to walk forward when they have lost their way and give them the courage to see they CAN climb the mountain before them. Their gift is, simply put, a life changing event for both the child and the parents. I could never thank them enough for the difference they made.

My wife and I sent our daughter here. We were amazed how quickly our daughter began to deteriorate from a logical rational individual to an irrational teen ready to make decisions that could have disastrous consequences. We lost all ability to communicate with her and she routinely defied our values and boundaries. Anasazi was a great challenging experience for her. The trail is difficult and pushed her to great lengths physically spiritually and emotionally. She developed a very strong camaraderie with her band of "young walkers." It taught her many things that I see she is still processing. Most importantly it kept her safe and changed her mind about many destructive things she was preparing to do. Our relationship with her is not magically healed and will require many years of work. But at least now we have better peace of mind. When outside our direct control she is better equipped to make good decisions. There are many great people that work here. They are sincere and have a strong desire to help the young adults and children. Most of the staff are Mormon. This in no way has a negative influence on you if you come from a different background. We are a traditional Jewish family and never felt as outsiders or frowned upon for our beliefs. I would say just the opposite. We were welcomed. They showed great interest in seeing how we relate to the Creator of the Universe. My advise to parents considering this program is not to wait. Dont deny that a problem is brewing. The sooner you can stage an intervention for your child struggling with making the right decisions the more likely you will achieve a positive result. We were trying to let her complete the school year but things deteriorated daily and we decided to pull her out before school year was done. This has created some other challenges in scholastics but we have no regrets. Good Luck to all on your journey

Our daughter has been off the trail now for 1 year. She has so many seeds of greatness and is amazing with the skills and knowledge she learned from Anasazi. She busted one of the biggest coals we've seen in 23 seconds just the other day. Thank you again to your organization and all the trail walkers!

I was a young walker from Nov 2005-Jan 2006 and I walked the trial for 9 weeks. ANASAZI was the place that healed my heart and soul and gave me the tools to cope with life. The trail walkers loved me, taught me,sat with me, hiked with me and they helped me see the value and seeds of greatness I have within myself. I have continued to use these skills throughout my life. In 2011, I came back as a trail walker for a short season, and it was a wonderful place to work. This program works, and I can honestly say that I'm alive because ANASAZI and the help my family and I received while here.

It's never too late to make a new beginning. I was a client/young walker at 37 years old. Anasazi is a special program with special people. Through them I was able to find the forgiveness, love, and peace, it takes to make new beginnings. Forever Grateful for the extraordinary staff and people at Anasazi.

Two of my adult children have been trail walkers at Anasazi. Their experiences have been life changing for them and being with the young walkers has been something they will never forget. If you have a child in need of returning to their true self, I highly recommend Anasazi. You and they won't regret it!

We have nothing but great things to say about our experience with each person at Anasazi. They have a culture of respect, peace, resolution and discovery of one's inner gifts. Both parent and child are well prepared for what to expect. Meeting our daughter on the trail after her time on the mountain will go down as one of the neatest moments of our lives. I continue to use the tools we were taught and try to walk forward with a heart of peace each day. This is a life changing experience. While the trail is not easy, the work and effort is so worth it in the end. We have the utmost respect for this team, mission and corporation. I am Sunrise Glacier....and I have spoken. Misty

I went to Anasazi as a "young walker" in 1994 when I was 15 years old. It really helped me gain a sense of my worth as a person and lead me to be aware and accountable for my actions. It also helped me and my parents communicate better. I began to see them as people and not just my parents. I believe it also helped them to see me as a person as well. It didn't "fix" me, I still made choices my parents didn't like, but I reflect back to my time on the trail and everything I learned there often, and it helps me to be a better person. When I turned 23 I went back as a "trail walker". I worked there for about 2 years and Anasazi changed my life again. I have since worked at other treatment programs and this one is by far the best!!

Anasazi changed my life forever. I was a Trail Walker in 2008. Serving the teenagers at the Anasazi foundation did more for me personally then my LDS mission in making a difference in my life. The principles, culture, instruction, and "Anasazi way" are inspired of God. Anasazi can reach those that cannot be reached in any other way, including myself. I love Ezekiel and his family and have an eternal bond with all those that crossed my path during this period of my life. This is my best attempt to describe with words the impact Anasazi has had on my life.

I was able to go through this program and it changed my life. Every person who works here cares very deeply about every person they meet and they work hard to make sure we all walk out of there with tools to use to make our lives better. It is absolutely worth every penny and every second of time spent here. It is my most cherished memory and by far the greatest experience of my life so far.

I worked for the Anasazi Foundation this summer. In my work experience I have not found a company with purer motives, better staff, or a more solid philosophy. I've spent the last 9 years working with teenagers in different capacities (ski & gymnastics coach, music instructor, wilderness therapy), and no one has impressed me as they have. They fearlessly help families reunite. I am forever grateful for my time there.

Only true beauty comes from the struggles of life. Through the Anasazi foundation, I have seen more beautiful hearts grow closer to their parents, and parents back to their children. This program grows love and confidence and I as a former trailwalker am proud to have supported it.

My parents loved me enough to send a "not-so-great-me" to Anasazi when I was 17... They saved my life. I walked with warriors for 53 days. Their message is powerful & changed me deeply. I was tough... but they just loved me ... no matter how hard I pushed back. Anasazi is not a cushy dorm room with a pool table & cafeteria. Walkers are completely submerged in the wiles of Mother Nature... there is beauty, struggles, laughter, lessons, trials, reflection, & lots of "hard stuff".... all of which can bring about soul wrenching change if you dig deep, lean-in, & let go. (... and that "hard stuff" made for some great stories! I look back & laugh...& wonder how we did it!) A piece of my heart now belongs to the Arizona wilderness ... with Zeke & Larry ... and their wonderful families, guides, shadows & friends. If you are seeking a loving, patient, encouraging environment where your child can experience "real" change... & can recognize their true identity as a child of a loving Heavenly Father.... then they will thrive in places of quiet & peace.... away from the noise & influence of the world. This is the Anasazi Way.

I worked at Anasazi for the summer season of 2015. The atmosphere was one of the most unique I had encountered at a workplace seeing. My effectiveness as an employee was closely tied to my character and how I saw and treated others. The teens and young adults were incredible examples of determination and hope for the future. There are many young people who suffer with debilitating mental health issues, addictions, and crippling stress because of difficult life decisions. Anasazi provides an oasis from the distractions of life and gives parents and their children an opportunity to self reflect and develop more mindful ways of being in the world. I loved my time at Anasazi.

This is such a great organization! I've had the opportunity to work with them (on several occasions) to produce content that blesses families. Their primary concern is always, always, always to bring families together again. And their success rate is through the roof! Such wonderful people doing wonderful things. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

A life changing experience. Staff is incomparable. The philosophy offers a new language and fresh perspective on relationships and spirituality. Lots of fun primitive skills are taught by talented humans. Anasazi is a way of life that has forever altered mine for the better. Walk forward, friends!

I was a trailwalker (a counselor on the trail) for Anasazi for 7 short months and it shaped my life and who I am as a person. There is nothing like being out in the wild, learning to be self reliant, having time to disconnect with the world and connect with individuals and the Creator, and taking time to just be still. I watched as young lives that came to us troubled, were changed. Their confidence grew, their self-worth grew, their communication skills grew and they began to see who they could be in life, their true potential. I will be forever grateful for my Anasazi experience!

I love Anasazi! The best place I have ever been. There were so many Awakenings or spiritual experiences while out in the wilderness. My time there sunk deep into my heart and life. Thank you Anasazi!

Absolutely Life changing experience. Today, over four years later I still think back on my path I took at Anasazi very often and reminisce about how life changing it was. Honestly want to go back. Went in with much turmoil, depression, anger, and hopelessness. Left with the tools and knowledge that life is a much different path with different priorities. If anyone is wondering if t is for them, their child, friend, family, if they are struggling with anything, consider life without them in it or life with them on a happy, successful, tool driven path, and make that decision. I wouldn't trade my walk for anything and would recommend it 100/100. Even to those that have lighter trials it will teach you so much about yourself. Met so many great people trying to better themselves, many of which I am still in contact with and forever will be. With that, taking a walk at Anasazi is the reason I'm here today and thriving. I am the Torch Bearer of Midnight Skies, and I have spoken.

Words cannot describe how we feel about our daughter's accomplishments during her 49 Day Anasazi experience. The skills, knowledge, discipline, friendships and confidence that she gained, is and will continue to impact her for the rest of her life. Thank you to all the Trail Walkers, Young Walkers, Shadows, The 7 Paths, The Sacred Wind, and Her Creator for making this an unforgettable experience that we will cherish for all eternity. Walk Forward!

It has been about 24 years ago now that my daughter was in Anasazi. In am not going to disclose all the things that landed upon her at the time, only to say that she was required to carry a load that far exceeded what any teen age girl should have to carry and involved severe trauma. I still remember meeting with her on the trail at the last portion of her time there. Her self confidence had grown immeasurable and her self worth was restored. Upon leaving, she still had to face the difficulties that continued to exist in her life, one of them being the divorce of her mother and I and all the complications of continuing a family life with such different dynamics. But she did it, and she did it in her own way and she did it well. Today she is a loving, giving mother with well grounded children. I feel that the things that she internalised while in Anasazi have played a major role in her success. I am convinced that if had not been for Anasazi, she in all likelihood just would not have been able to survive that very traumatic time in her life, and we would not have each other today. Anasazi, never was a punitive approach but instead a teaching opportunity for both my daughter and my wife (my daughter's step mother). We all learned and benefited from the experience.

I worked as a Trailwalker for Anasazi for twelve months in 2014. I've worked in a few different youth treatment centers since then and Anasazi is still the best program I have come across with the best, long-lasting results. It is also, to this day, the best company/foundation I have ever worked for. It is a life-changing program with the most loving and pure-hearted people. It is a program whose teachings will follow me throughout my life and translate to how I raise my own children. It is not easy by any means, but it is exquisitely worth every effort.

Some of the most beautiful and pivotal experiences of my life happened as I walked the trail 16 years ago. I knew it was going to be amazing but entering as a staff member, I had no idea how much these experiences were going to impact my future. I recommend this program to any family in need of healing or any individual in need of hope.

I have successfully used Anasazi for some of my clients over the past 10 years+, The students come back with great insight about themselves and new maturity. The whole family will grow from the experience at Anasazi. I highly recommend this program.

We sent our son to Anasazi we were at a loss with him and didn’t know how to help him find his way in this life and this foundation has helped us help him what we did not know was how it would change our whole family the way we think and interact with each other and how we look at the world this experience has made my son look at himself in a better way to see he is not his past the staff is great with him and us every step of the way from the start and not just one person they are all great they are all helpful and so kind to us we are beyond grateful to them for giving us our family back there are no real words to do this foundation justice all we can say is thank you for everything

Went there as a young walker in 2001. Changed my life. I will never forget it.

When we were looking for help for our child, other options seemed punitive and coercive. I knew my child would not respond well to this. We wanted help for ourselves too, as parents. Anasazi grows self-reliance and confidence in young walkers who discover they can do hard and amazing things. It also helps place parents and children on a path of peace by teaching the individual to honor the inner voice and to recognize the value and worth of every soul. Most crucially, we have learned that regardless of what choices our child makes, we can still give love while holding appropriate boundaries, and feel at peace with our way of being.

Anasazi did an amazing job making us feel good about our decision to bring our son to Anasazi. The staff was so warm and comforting when we arrived. I also think Michael Sanders does an unbelievable job in his parenting class. It was truly a life changing day for us. I am hopeful that our son will have an amazing experience to talk about once he returns.

My husband was a TrailWalker in the early 90's. I walked the trail last year for a couple seasons as a TrailWalker and later helped facilitate the family camps and in the office. I loved watching the healing process happen right in front of my eyes from the moment the broken families walk in the door, to the day they are reunited with hugs and joyful tears. Beautiful.

ANASAZI is the best, as anybody familiar knows. The people of ANASAZI understand and then issues oftentimes resolve themselves and everybody grows stronger. Truly a life-changing experience for all involved. Sure love ya! Limitless Sky

Words cannot express my love and appreciation for this organization (and for my parents making me attend). I attended Anasazi over 18 years ago and I can honestly say that what I learned there has impacted every day of my life since. Anasazi helped me see the value in myself and others, skills to succeed, and how to have peace within my life. Anasazi is not a place that is going to "fix" your kid, rather help your child and your family gain skills to regain peace, respect, and love with each other and within. I am deeply indebted to the staff at Anasazi. They brought me out of the darkest places and gave me hope. I would recommend Anasazi over and over again. Gentle Bear Walking
